Democrat leaders in the House and Senate have owned the legacy media news cycle for most of their political careers. They are used to favorable media reports that reinforce their policy positions, as well as highly negative reporting about republicans and conservatives in general. The advent of the internet and subsequent growth of independent journalism and also social media over the past 20 years in particular has destroyed the Democrat-media stranglehold on public discourse in America.
Yet, the Democrats continue to use their same old Democrat-media complex playbook and expect results consistent with their past experiences. They fully expect to be able to control and dictate the political narrative on any issue. Not only are they in complete denial about the loss of this ability, they continue to push issues that been abandoned on principle in the eyes of most Americans. Independent journalists are able to dissect the Democrat agit-prop and counter it in real-time thanks to social media and leading-edge blogs, like here at UncoverDC.
First and foremost, the Democrats have been trying to oust President Trump from the moment he was elected. With the willing assistance of Deep State allies, the Democrats concocted the Russia collusion hoax and used their operatives in the legacy media to propagate falsehoods in thousands of “news” stories for over two-and-a-half years. The Democrats were convinced that an unbounded special counsel investigation would find something somewhere that would lead to the removal of the President, and they were only too happy to use their dominance of the legacy media to propagate that myth.
Independent journalists did yeoman’s work in exposing the false reporting by the legacy media, and then the Mueller report dashed the Democrat-media hopes by finding no collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians while weasel-wording conclusions on obstruction. That the Democrats failed to use any elements of the Mueller report in their two articles of impeachment is all the proof we need that the Mueller report was a complete waste of time from the very beginning. They dragged the President and the country through the mud and came up with nothing.
Yet, the Democrats can’t seem to get off this Russia kick and are attempting to parlay their 2016 Russian meddling propaganda into an issue for the 2020 elections. We are also seeing it in the impeachment trial in the Senate. Just yesterday as the so called "house managers" stood in front of a milk and water drinking senate body, they consistently and repeatedly pronounced Russias love for President Trump, and hatred for anyone with the last name Biden. Nancy Pelosi also filibustered about that on the Democrat-friendly ABC Sunday news program “This Week with George Stephanopolous” on the 12th of January.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said President Trump is "in complete denial" about Russia's attempts to meddle in the 2020 election and accused Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of being an "accomplice" to Russian interference, claiming that she wonders about his allegiance to the United States. Read the rest here
That is just plain lunacy, but the Democrats remain in denial about their inability to make their Russian collusion allegations stick against the President – and are now trying to rope Mitch McConnell into their Russian collusion hoax.
But if that’s not crazy enough, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, one of the Democrats’ biggest purveyors of Russian collusion and related conspiracy theories, devoted nearly an entire program in December to warn of “inevitable” Russian election meddling in 2020 courtesy of “Mr. Banana.” She claimed that TheSoul Publishing, a Cyprus-based and Russian-backed internet company, is producing click-bait content such as “Mr. Banana” that will be insidiously influencing future American elections through its “huge online presence.” You can watch the Mr. Banana video segment here.
In short, one of Nancy Pelosi’s biggest media allies is stuck on Russian election meddling, too. Rachel Maddow remains in denial mode.
Let’s briefly look at the Democrats’ impeachment farce. It will just provide more evidence that they’re in denial about their ability to move public opinion, no matter how many times the public hear repetitious false impeachment narratives by the legacy media.
The Democrats passed two articles of impeachment that cited no impeachable crimes committed by the President – and were based on hearsay evidence and the personal opinions of witnesses. They did this while ignoring exonerating evidence from the only witness with direct knowledge of the President’s intentions. Yet, Speaker Pelosi and the two Democrat committee chairmen who ran the impeachment hearings in the House have stated for weeks in news conferences and television interviews that the body of evidence documented during their tightly-controlled charade is overwhelmingly conclusive and is “incontrovertible.” Yet, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, and other Democrats have been publicly insisting for weeks that they need additional witnesses to testify in a Senate trial. Judge Ken Starr calls that “intellectual incoherence.” They can't have it both ways, and the public would appear to agree, according to an article published on January 8th, by the polling research firm Rasmussen Reports:
Fewer voters than ever believe President Trump will be removed from office via impeachment, while a little-changing plurality still thinks he will be reelected in November.
Only 12% now feel it’s more likely that Trump will be impeached and removed from office before serving his first full term. That’s down from a high of 29% when Rasmussen Reports first asked this question in late December 2017 and marks a new low.
The Democrats were sure that they made the case for impeachment during their public hearings. They were sure that their hand-picked witnesses were credible and provided overwhelming evidence of presidential crimes, as well as of the “urgent need” to remove President Trump from office. They were sure they had the goods on the President, and that the public would support his impeachment. They were sure that their focus-group-tested phrases that were propagated throughout the legacy media over the holidays (and reinforced by television interviews of leading Democrats in Democrat-friendly settings) would persuade plenty of Americans to support impeachment and removal of the President: incontrovertible, overwhelming evidence, need for a fair trial, need for more witnesses, etc., etc. They were sure that their own constituents would rally around the impeachment flag during the Christmas break. They were sure that the public would support Pelosi’s delaying tactics in withholding the articles of impeachment from the Senate in order to attempt to dictate the rules and procedures of a Senate trial.
Except the polls show otherwise. Aside from the Democrat base, the public was unconvinced by the impeachment hearings. They saw that Pelosi herself completely undercut the Democrats’ caterwauling about the “urgent need” to impeach by delay in delivering the articles to the Senate. Mitch McConnell, Jonathan Turley, Ken Starr, and the President himself destroyed the Democrats’ arguments for impeachment over the holidays, and the Rasmussen poll reflected a DECREASE in support for impeachment, which must shock the Democrats. Even still, they remain in denial about the fact that they are unable to influence the public on the subject of impeachment to this very day.
Still not convinced that the Democrat-media complex are in denial? Let’s look at the drone attack that literally made mincemeat of IRGC-Quds Force commander, Qassem Soleimani and Kata’ib Hezbollah’f founder and leader, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis. Those two were directly responsible for the deaths of thousands of Americans in the Middle East over the past 25 years. Soleimani’s infamous exploits are summarized in this article, al-Munandis’s evil career is summarized here.
Rather than coming together with Republicans and the rest of the country and rejoicing in the righteous killing of these two murderers – in much the same manner as happened when Barack Obama announced the killing of Osama Bin Laden in 2011 – the Democrat-media complex immediately condemned the drone strike and, in some cases, refused to acknowledge the evil that these two men perpetrated throughout their careers. Then, the Democrats further compounded their disingenuous spin, by defending the Iranian SRBM attacks on two Iraqi bases and then actually blaming President Trump after the Iranians shot down Ukraine Flight 752 with a surface-to-air missile.
The Democrats then rushed a war power resolution through the House that was essentially their political statement in response to the Iran situation. Never mind that President Trump and his national security team have defused the crisis and finally restored real deterrence to the US arsenal of weapons in dealing with the rogue regime in Tehran; this excerpt describes the Democrats’ resolution perfectly:
The first thing for the Senate to do when it takes up the war powers resolution just passed by the House is to give it a proper name. The Sun proposes the “Enemy Emboldenment Act of 2020.” For the resolution is designed to ensure that the Supreme Leader of Iran and his camarilla are not under any misapprehension that the Democrats support our GIs or their constitutional commander-in-chief.
The Democrats reflexively defended Tehran throughout this crisis and remain in denial that the President acted legally and properly in every respect by taking decisive action to stop planned attacks against four US embassies in the Middle East. They are in denial that the Democrat-media complex cannot persuade Americans that the President’s actions were wrong.
To summarize, the Democrat-media complex – while formidable – isn’t the juggernaut they once were. This is thanks largely to independent journalists coupled with near-instantaneous social media reporting, and its clear they cannot accept that fact and have failed to modify their political tactics accordingly. They refuse to accept that Russia collusion was proven to be a hoax, that the public has figured out that their impeachment articles are crime-less for the first time in history, that they destroyed their own case for an “urgent impeachment” in the public’s minds by playing political games in delaying the provision of those articles to the Senate, that their focus-group-tested phrases are easily exposed by independent media reporting, that the President’s authorization of the drone attack was a righteous response, and that the President acted within his legal authority and responsibility throughout the Iran crisis over the last several weeks. This is all contrary to the narratives of the Democrat-media complex. May they remain in denial throughout 2020 and beyond!
