Legacy media is motivated by fear and hate

During the recent Second Amendment rally in Richmond, Virginia, some in the legacy media tried portraying attendees as white supremacists. I knew that wasn’t the case, so it was refreshing to watch a live feed showing many black Americans openly disavowing that premise.

Still, many in the legacy media are hell-bent on dividing Americans, and race is one of their trusty hot buttons. Therefore, my official title for this piece is, “Legacy media is motivated by fear and hate, and it may the undoing of America. Can they be stopped?” It’s an open letter response to an opinion piece by Noah Berlatsky at NBCnews.com, titled, Trump voters motivated by racism may be violating the Constitution. Can they be stopped? Berlatsky’s piece is unrelated to Richmond, but it contains incredulous leaps of illogic and narrow-minded thinking, so I wanted to address it.

Dear Mr. Berlatsky,

On the outside chance any Americans missed the opening paragraph of your NBCnews.com op-ed piece, I’ve copied it here:

“If the Trump era has taught us anything, it's that large numbers of white people in the United States are motivated at least in part by racism in the voting booth. Donald Trump ran an openly racist campaign for president, calling Mexicans rapists and criminals, regularly retweeting white supremacists and at least initially balking at repudiating former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke. Trump made it clear in his campaign that "Make America Great Again" meant that America was greater when white people's power was more sweeping and more secure. White voters approved of that message by a whopping 58 percent to 37 percent.”

I could write a book rebutting the flawed assumptions in your entire piece, but allow me to address some points in this first paragraph.

If the Trump era has taught us anything, it's that large numbers of media people in the United States twist the truth because they are motivated at least in part by fear and hate. They fear they won’t see a socialist government in their lifetime, and they hate Donald Trump for throwing a wrench in their gears.

Donald Trump ran on removing the corruption eating away at America’s fabric. And Noah, since you brought it up, part of that problem has been the porous southern border.

Why do Marxists, socialists, and Democrats – along with those in the legacy media – want the border porous? Because they know Leftist positions rarely win in America without twisting the truth and/or bullying or cheating, so they need as many voters as they can get. Thus, they desire an open border because they know at least 70 percent of people coming from Mexico and Central/South America will vote Democrat.

The Center for Immigration Studies has determined that every person entering our country illegally costs taxpayers $82,000. When you consider that at least 10 million people are in our country illegally (and maybe twice that), and more are entering every year, Americans are sacrificing a lot of money just so Democrats can get more votes.

It’s truly sad that you take Trump’s desire to restore rule of law and say he “ran an openly racist campaign.” It wouldn’t have mattered if those crossing our southern border were blonde-haired, blue-eyed Swedes, if some of them were rapists, Trump would have called them out.

Sadly, the Marxist / socialist / Democrat PR Media Machine as well as people like Vice-Presidential candidate Tim Kaine went around claiming Trump said, “all Mexicans are rapists.”

Allow me to quote Trump directly so you and the legacy media can see what honest journalism looks like.

Trump said,

"When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."

Did Trump say all Mexicans were rapists? Some with a closed mind might say yes, but intellectually honest people understand Trump’s context.

Obviously, not all Mexicans are rapists. But some are. If you think Trump lied:

Just last week a 15-year old North Carolina girl was raped by an illegal alien after he abducted her from a bus stop.

Three months ago, in November of last year, a “migrant worker” who was in the country illegally raped a TWO YEAR OLD GIRL in Florida.

Did you see that, Noah? She was two years old.

Six months ago, in August of last year, two illegal immigrants REPEATEDLY raped an 11-year-old girl in Maryland.

I could go on, Mr. Berlatsky, but there’s not enough space in this column to list every rape by an illegal that showed up on just one 30-second search.

Do you have any daughters, Noah? Do you have any sympathy for these girls who had their lives permanently scarred by rapists who were not authorized to be in the country? You know – people breaking our nations laws to get in and then continuing to break laws once they’re here?

Do you care that these young girls will likely have serious relationship and emotional issues? Possibly lifetime chronic anxiety and suicidal thoughts?

Or do those Democrat votes you cherish outweigh the unspeakable lifelong trauma experienced by these girls?

Tell me, why won’t your cohorts in the legacy media discuss this?

My money is on the legacy media being afraid of losing all those Democrat votes that lead to their socialist utopia, plus hating Donald Trump for throwing a wrench in their plans.

Guilt by Retweet

Something else you mentioned was Trump retweeting white supremacists. You gave no examples, you simply insinuated Trump retweeted comments supporting white supremacy.

Contrary to what you implied, Noah, Trump did no such thing. It didn’t take long for me to find the retweets you referenced. In case you didn’t bother to look, here are the “white supremacist” retweets made by Trump:

  • I truly believe you are the best #MakeAmericaGreatAgain" Thank you so much!
  • I haven't seen anyone carry themselves so Presidential since Reagan. #MakeAmericaGreatAgain" Great!
  • Ivanka said it and you said it too, you'll be great for women. #MakeAmericaGreatAgain"
  • Your performances in every state have been amazing! #MakeAmericaGreatAgain
  • The only winner of the #DemDebate is @realDonaldTrump." This is not a great debate - a little sad!

Noah, do you know how Twitter works? Here’s a primer: People tweet comments, and if the comment is something you want to share, you retweet it. There’s nothing in a tweet that says, “WARNING: THIS TWEET ORIGINATED IN THE MIND OF A WHITE SUPREMACIST.” Or “WARNING: THIS TWEET ORIGINATED IN THE MIND OF AN EXTREME LEFTIST WRITER FROM CHICAGO WHO SUFFERS FROM GUILT AND THINKS ALL WHITES WHO VOTED FOR TRUMP ARE RACISTS.”

Let’s unpack the logic of my last sentence, because clearly I’m referencing you, Noah. Quite simply, you make a huge, narrow-minded illogical leap in your opening paragraph when you say,

“’Make America Great Again’ meant that America was greater when white people’s power was more sweeping and more secure.”

Racism is all you can think of? I believe you can be better than this.

Try not to be so closed-minded. Maybe – just maybe – Americans were tired of globalists like George Herbert Walker Bush, William Jefferson Clinton, George Walker Bush, and Barack Hussein Obama (or is it Barry Soetoro?) selling us down the river.

Maybe, just maybe, Americans were tired of seeing their jobs go to India and China?

Maybe Americans were tired of enduring embarrassing global apology tours?

Maybe Americans were tired of giving their tax dollars via “foreign aid” to countries who hate us?

Maybe Americans were tired of annual GDP growth no longer exceeding 2.9 percent?

And maybe, just maybe Noah, Americans are phenomenally more concerned about differences in principles and policy than in differences of skin color?

Think about it. If Trump is a white supremacist and his message is about white supremacy, he totally sucks at it. Trump’s support among blacks has quadrupled – going from 8 percent in 2016 to 34 percent today.

Twisting statistics

Finally, Noah, you put icing on your racist cake when you state that 58 percent of whites voted for Trump and 37 percent voted against him – declaring the disparity was because whites approved of Trump’s [allegedly racist] messaging.

Newsflash: If Obama was not a Marxist / socialist and had instead espoused the principles upon which our Constitution was built, I and 58 percent of other white patriots would have voted for him.

In other words, it’s not about skin color, Noah. It’s about principles. When you see that 58 percent figure, please change your thinking, because it represents white Americans who still believe in the founding principles upon which our Constitution was built.

To wrap up, it is verifiable that the legacy media aligns with the Marxist / socialist / Democratic principles of globalism, and that this ideology seeks to divide society using race and other forms of identity politics. You appear to be among this crowd.

How are patriots stopping the harm you are causing? With a new media. America now has newspapers like The Epoch Times and websites like UncoverDC, The Daily Wire, The Federalist, The Blaze, The Daily Caller, Breitbart, and many others that provide authentic, principled journalism.

It’s difficult to address your myopia, Noah, if you don’t know it exists. But if you lose the fear and the hate and talk with real patriots, you’ll learn they seek a return to the strong fabric of our founding principles.
